VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need groups of volunteers who are willing to give up a Saturday morning to provide needed services to people in our community!  We need:

  • STUDENTS:  Get a group of friends together to volunteer and have fun!
  • FAMILIES:  Parents - show your kids the value of volunteering... volunteer together as a family!
  • CO-WORKERS:  If your company is having a United Way campaign, this is a great way to incorporate volunteering!
  • CHURCH GROUPS
  • SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS

Here are ways you can get involved:

  • Rake a yard for an elderly or disabled person.  Come to the Grand Rapids Lion’s Club at 9:00am to receive your assignment.  Groups of 4-5 are needed per yard.  You must provide your own transportation, rake and gloves.
  • Hold a food drive and then drop off your donations at South Wood Emergency Pantry Shelf (located in First Congregational Church) at 311 2nd St. S.  Please use the Maple Street entrance.  The food pantry is open from 11:30am – 2:30pm.
  • Participate in the Food Drive at Copps.  Shop at Copps and drop off your donations at the front of the store.
  • Children in grades 4-6 can sign up for the Soups for Hoops Basketball Clinic.  Children will learn basketball moves from Lincoln High School’s Boys Basketball team members.  Clinic will be held at Immanuel Lutheran School from 8:00am – 10:00am.  To register, please contact the United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s Volunteer Center at 715-421-0390.  Cost is two canned food items!
  • Call United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s Volunteer Center for a special project.
  • Create your own project, and let us know the details.

Rakers need to provide their own transportation, rakes and gloves.  Home owners will provide the bags!

Volunteer Application (must be filled out)
