United Way of Inner Wisconsin Announces New CEO

WIS. RAPIDS – The United Way of Inner Wisconsin is pleased to announce Tari Jahns as its new CEO.  Jahns will start on February 21st, 2008.

Jahns is currently the store manager at the Wisconsin Rapids Younkers, and has been an active United Way volunteer for 15 years.  She is a United Way of Inner Wisconsin Board Member and the current Community Impact Chair. Jahns has also volunteered for the United Way as a small business solicitor, Loaned Executive, Campaign Superhero and she has served on the Governance Committee.

“I am very excited about coming on board with the United Way of Inner Wisconsin and I’m looking forward to serving this organization in an even greater capacity,” said Jahns.

A native of Wisconsin Rapids, Jahns has worked at Younkers for over ten years; first as the assistant store manager, then three years as store manager.

Taris management skills, volunteer experience and passion for the United Way make her an excellent fit for the United Way's CEO position, said Deb Edwards, United Way of Inner Wisconsins 2007 Board President.  Her experience with campaign, governance and Community Impact prepares Tari for this position and will allow her to hit the ground running. The board is looking forward to working with Tari and to have her in this leadership position.

Jahns currently serves as a council member at First English Lutheran Church. She was previously a board member at the Chamber of Commerce and the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board and a Miss Wisconsin Rapids Area Pageant Hostess.

Jahns replaces Bruce Trimble as the United Way of Inner Wisconsin CEO.
